State Secretary Anja Boudon
Anja Boudon was born in Hanover in 1968. After graduating from the Ratsgymnasium in Hanover, she studied philosophy, politics, and Russian at the Georg-August University in Göttingen as of 1987 and business administration as of 1988. In 1993, she graduated with a degree in business administration and subsequently held various positions in the administration of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and co-founded and managed an agricultural business in Auvergne, France.
In the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, she headed the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) department in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, and Innovation from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2019, she worked as a consultant for economics, foreign trade, internal market, state aid policy, industrial and cluster policy, and innovation at the Joint Representation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein to the European Union in Brussels. There, she also co-chaired the working group of the economic advisors of the federal states since 2014.
After several months on secondment to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Anja Boudon then headed the Agricultural Policy, Agricultural Land Management, Fisheries Department and, on a temporary basis, the Agricultural Economics Department as well as the Agricultural Economics Office of the Environmental Agency in Hamburg. Since January 2021, she has been Head of the Agricultural Economics Department and Deputy Head of the Agricultural Economics Office, and since November, Acting Head of the Agricultural Economics Office.
On 4 January 2022, Minister President Dietmar Woidke appointed Anja Boudon as State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Climate Protection at the suggestion of Minister of Agriculture Axel Vogel. She succeeds Silvia Bender, who moved to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture as State Secretary in December 2021.
