Flowering time in the Mark - Bees and beekeeping in Brandenburg
The number of bee colonies in Brandenburg has fortunately been increasing again for ten years. We are working to keep it that way. That is why the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment continues to provide direct support for beekeeping and encourages new beekeepers to purchase their initial equipment.
The conditions for beekeeping are repeatedly the subject of public debates on an agricultural turnaround. Honey bees react very sensitively to deteriorating environmental conditions in their immediate surroundings. In the struggle to preserve biodiversity, they have become a symbol for demands for more insect protection.
